33 Singaporeans embarked on a "ghostly tour" - Lianhe Wanbao (15 Sept, 2002)

33 Singaporeans who are avid lovers of the supernatural visited the Muzeum Negara in Kuala Lumpur for the Exploring Ghost Exhibition: Mystery and Culture event.

On 2nd September, they embarked on this "ghostly tour" to the Muzeum Negara under the banner of SFOGS.com. SFOGS is the abbreviation of Singapore's First Online Ghost Stories, a Singapore website that caters to archiving ghost stories, photographs, sound and movie clips in different formats and media.

This group of supernatural lovers are very interested in the paranormal activities and they were so enthusiastic about the visit to the Muzuem that they brought along palmtops, cameras and notebooks for the sake of recording down any interesting ghostly encounters that they may experience in the exhibition.

In order to add some spice to this tour, the Muzeum Negara got 3 people to dress up as ghosts (the pontianak being the most heart-rendering) and to walk around the exhibition to startle the visitors.

These 3 "ghosts" kept hovering near the Singaporeans and their sudden appearances resulted in many people being scared out of their wits. This added to the ghastly and scary atmosphere.

Alisia, a 17 year old girl, who confessed to being a fan of ghosts and ghost stories, did not back her claims as the appearance of the 3 "ghosts" scared her so much that she couldn't take it and eventually broke down.

While she was crying, she kept repeating, "The "ghosts" almost scared me to death. My heart is beating so fast!" Besides Alisia, her friend was also scared out of her wits and she mentioned that she was so scared that she didn't know whether she should laugh or cry.

This event definitely showed that there are ghost lovers out there who are actually not that brave after all.
