Kids From The Lift

Living at the flat with my grandmother and my aunt has been 20 years and this flat has become my permanent house since I moved from my parents house because at that time, I need to go to school which was very near to my flat.

Talking about flats which reminds me of haunted things that happened. Mostly you all know that flats are live by hundreds of different people and many things had always occurred. Fighting, quarreling, kids playing, shouting, laughing and crying that normally you will always heard of. Because of these environment has made me used to it already. But there's one story I heard from the neighbors that behind my flat, there's a lot of banana trees which had been planted for a long time ago.

Sometimes, when I looked down from my flat and saw those banana trees, I feel very eerie and sometimes during midnight, dogs from the opposite banglo will barked non stop like they saw something from the banana trees. Not only dogs will barked but even cats sometimes will miaow uncontrollably which sometimes makes me unable to sleep well. Not only it's about banana trees but also the lift in the flat. The lift actually was really old and sometimes will make a squeking sound when it goes up and down.

I have this eerie story that I want to told you about. It's about Joshua; a teenage boy who live in a flat who encountered an incident.

A year ago where he was sight seeing at his flat on 6th floor at 11pm to smoke some ciggrates. Then, the lift open so, he tried to looked to see the person taking the lift lift but he saw no one. Thinking that maybe people from down stair had missed the lift or sometimes kids pull pranks so he ignored the lift and continue his sight seeing but suddenly the lift opens itself again but this time it opens and closes several times. The light from the lift suddenly flickering uncontrollably too. He was curious and scared but he wants to figured out what was happening. When he's chalengging his guts to get closer to the lift, suddenly the bell was ringing non stop and that makes Joshua jumped up to the stairs. Because he was scared, he went up to his house and not to think too much but when he was about to go up, he suddenly heard the laughing and giggling of childrens. Joshua knew he had heard it but he doesn't want to looked back again so he quickly went up as fast as he could until he almost reach his home, he tried to looked again and that time, it gives Joshua an unforgettable moment he'll never forget. There, he saw four childrens were standing in the lift naked and their bodies was really pale running, laughing and giggling around. He thought that they won't noticed him as he was spying them from upstairs but he was wronged. One of the kid stopped playing and looked at him. And suddenly, the rest of the childrens also stopped playing and looked at him too. Joshua was shocked so, he quickly ran upstairs without looking at them but it seems like he can't even run as there's something holding tighly on his feet.

To his shocked, he saw two children streching their hands and hugged him. When he's trying to looked at the childrens, they were smiling at him with their mouths was black like they are swallowing black ink and each time when they laughed, their mouths were wider and wider like their jaws going to tear off. Joshua can't stand and looked more as the kids were shaking uncontrollably like their bodies going to tear apart. He screamed and screamed loudly until he tried and managed to break free from the kids hugged and he ran as fast as he could. He can even heard the kids were laughing evily so he can't stand it anymore and he doesn't realised he tripped on one of the stairs and he rolled down from the stairs and fainted.

When Joshua woke up, he saw his parent's face and feel happy and relieved to see them. His mother told him that she heard him screaming crazily and went out to see what had happened and only saw him lying unconcious on the floor. Then Joshua remembered what he saw just now, he told his parent about what he saw earlier but his mother just remained silent. Then her mother told him that the kids he saw was the kids that died 40 years ago due to broken lift. The kids was playing in the lift and suddenly the lift was broken and it smashed down and had killed the childrens. The policed has investigate the cause and it's because the cabels are old and rusty plus the kids are playing in the lift,perhaps jumping around, so the lift just smashed down. When Joshua heard the story, he was staring blankly and think about those poor kids. Those kids died horribly and now haunting the lift evethough the lift has it's new look and new machines but it can't return back the lifes of the kids. Maybe those kids wanted to played with him but his not that kind of the brave boy he was.
